Clinton Water Main Flushing Taking Place This Week

The Connecticut Water Company is flushing its water mains in the town of Clinton through April 8. Routine flushing helps to maintain water quality by scouring the inside of the water mains.

Water mains will be flushed between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. through March 29. Water main flushing will also take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday through April 8.

During water main flushing it is possible that some customers may experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations. The discolored water should clear within a few hours, and running the cold water tap for a couple of minutes can help to clear the water. While experiencing discolored water, customers should avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher, or other water using devices. Customers should call Connecticut Water at 1-800-286-5700 if discolored water persists for more than a few hours.
