Connecticut Water Sponsors Connecticut Trails Day Hike in Killingworth on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m.
Guided Trails Day Hike on Saturday, June 6 in Killingworth at the Killingworth Reservoir Trail.
Connecticut Water is leading a hike in Killingworth on Saturday, June 6, as part of this year’s sponsorship of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s Connecticut Trails Day 2015. The hike will be at the Killingworth Reservoir Trail that includes some minor hill climbing on a scenic trail that crosses open fields, the Menunketesuck River footbridge, a pond and old woods roads. A limited number of reusable water bottles will be given to hikers on a first come first serve basis, and all hikers will be entered into a raffle to win a gift certificate to LL Bean.
The hike get under way at 10 a.m. rain or shine, and hikers should meet on Roast Meat Hill Road across from the Platt Nature Center in Killingworth.
Located in Killingworth, the Killingworth and Kelseytown Reservoir hiking trail is also an approved Department of Public Health recreation program. The trail is opened only for hiking from April through October 31.
“We hope that people take the opportunity to enjoy the Killingworth Reservoir Trail on Trails Day and throughout the hiking season,” stated Cindy Gaudino, Connecticut Water’s manager of Source Protection and Real Estate.
