Crews Extinguish Fire In Clinton

Fire crews from Madison, Westbrook, Old Saybrook, and Guilford all responded to the blaze.

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department said at 4:43 p.m. Monday, the Town of Clinton Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a fire at 143 East Main Street.

Upon arrival, units found an active fire in the ceiling of a bathroom that was beginning to extend to other areas of the residence, officials said.

Firefighters gained access to the fire area and were able to bring the fire under control by 5 p.m., preventing further extension throughout the home.
