Overboard Man Found In Long Island Sound In Old Saybrook: Officials

Emergency crews from several towns responded to a report of a man overboard in Long Island Sound, according to officials.

OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Crews found a man who was reported to be overboard in Long Island Sound off Cornfield Point in Old Saybrook, officials said in an update Tuesday afternoon.

"The person was located and transported to a medical facility by EMS," officials wrote in a post on the Old Saybrook Fire Department's Facebook page.

WTNH News 8 reports the man was hospitalized with “life-threatening conditions,” according to Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

(Original post) OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Emergency crews are responding to a report of a man overboard in Long Island Sound off Cornfield Point in Old Saybrook, according to officials.

The Old Saybrook Fire Department, along with Old Saybrook Police Department, Old Saybrook Ambulance, Middlesex Health Paramedic, the Westbrook, Essex, and Old Lyme fire departments, Guilford Fire Department dive team and the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter are all responding to the scene, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department.
