Evacuation Order Lifted In Clinton

Officials say the evacuation order from CT Water has been lifted.

CLINTON, CT — Following an inspection of the Kelseytown Dam, the evacuation order from CT Water has been lifted and residents can return to their properties, town officials announced.

“Their structural engineers and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has confirmed the dam is secure,” officials said in a post on the town’s Facebook page. "Residents can return to their properties."

Clinton Police wrote that the water in the reservoir has "returned to a safely manageable level. The structural integrity of the dam has been inspected and found to be performing properly. Motorists are reminded to use extra caution on roadways as portions may have been undermined by swift moving waters."
