Fatal Fire Rips Through Westbrook Motel: Reports
A person is dead following a fire at the Cabins Motel in Westbrook on Thursday morning.

WESTBROOK, CT — A person is dead following a fire at the Cabins Motel in Westbrook, WFSB 3-TV reported. The identity of the victim has not been released.
The fire broke out shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday in one of the Boston Post Road motel's cabins. Crews arrived to find a cabin engulfed in flames, according to WTNH News-8.
The Clinton and Old Saybrook fire departments were called for assistance. Crews knocked down the fire relatively quickly, then found the body inside the cabin, which was completely destroyed in the blaze, WTNH News-8 reported.

Route 1 was closed at Kelce Road due to the blaze. No information on what caused the fire has been released.
