First Selectman Updates On Old Morgan School Development Site
The developer recently pulled out of the project.

CLINTON, CT — The Board of Selectmen is weighing its options for the old Morgan School site after the developer recently pulled out of the project, according to First Selectman Bruce Farmer. The developer, Mill Pond Clinton LLC, notified Farmer on Aug. 16 that it had terminated the project due to its inability to obtain the necessary financing for the project.
The $2.8 million sale of the property was approved by voters in 2015 with the expectation the developer would replace the old school with apartments, offices, and retail, service, and restaurant uses, according to Zip06.com.
“Thank you to all who have expressed concern and have offered to assist,” Farmer said in an update to residents. “Your Board of Selectmen has been working on this situation since that date. In the development sector, this event is not uncommon. Fortunately, Clinton is blessed with this primary location approved for mix use development and there are interested parties.
