The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter is located at 749 East Main St. in Branford, CT. Our hours of operation are Monday 9-3, Tuesday 9-5, Wednesday 9-5, Thursday 9-7, Friday 9-5, Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 9-5. Besides dogs and cats we have 5 Bunnies, 2 Guinea Pigs both female 2 and 4yr old, and a female ferret around 2 yrs old. Our cats range in age from 12weeks old to our oldest Cece who is 12 years old. Our dogs range in age from 1 ½ to 5 yrs old. We have some Pit mixes, Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, Old English Bull dog mix, Chihuahua mix and Pomeranian mixes. We have a volunteer program and a dog walking class. There is an Orientation every first and third Thursday of the month at 5:30 at the shelter. After you take the Orientation Class you can sign up to start volunteering. Our dog walking classes are held on Sunday from 3-5.
