When I vote on the budgets each year, I know I'm voting for today and tomorrow -- every tax dollar I invest in the town now is an investment in tomorrow. Look at it this way, the budget represents Clinton's infrastructure, the base on which all operations and activities depend. During the series of Nor’easters we suffered in March, I cannot count how many times I heard neighbors and friends praise the overworked local emergency and public works crews. Of course those round-the-clock workers and their equipment were funded by our tax dollars. When the snow is plowed so I can get out to school, work or a doctor appointment, that's thanks to tax dollars. Look around you and see all the activity at the Library, the Recreation Department's year round activities, and of course the schools. Thanks go to the leadership, to all of the town employees and volunteers, and especially to the taxpayers. Even with a VERY tight budget we the people of Clinton are building a strong base of services. Let’s vote Yes on both budgets and keep it that way.
