Juvenile Charged With Attempted Murder In Westbrook
A juvenile is being charged with attempted murder following the assault of another juvenile, according to state police.

WESTBROOK, CT — A juvenile has been charged with attempted in murder in Westbrook, according to state police.
Troop F in Westbrook responded to a call Friday reporting an injured juvenile on Boston Post Road in Westbrook. Investigators found that he was the victim of an assault.
The victim was taken by LifeStar helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigators reviewed security footage which showed the victim being assaulted by another juvenile who fled on foot. The families of both juveniles were notified of the incident.
Law enforcement then started a search to locate the juvenile suspect. Detectives obtained a warrant for the juvenile's arrest for criminal attempt to commit murder.

Authorities found the juvenile suspect and took him into custody without incident. He was then taken to an area hospital for medical evaluation and remains in custody.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police said they would not be releasing additional information due to the age of the victim and the suspect.
