Man Found With Marijuana, Machete, Knives During Traffic Stop: Clinton Police
Police say the suspect was pulled over for speeding.
CLINTON, CT — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Deep River man on drug charges and police say a machete and five knives were also found in the car.
Clinton Police arrested Jon Corriveau, 25, of Cedar Lake Road, during a motor vehicle stop for speeding at about 12:23 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, according to Sgt. Joe Flynn.
Corriveau was pulled over on Route 81 near Egypt Lane and the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle during the stop.

Flynn said another officer arrived to assist and a search of the vehicle yielded the following: 1.2 pounds of marijuana in a large plastic bag on the back seat, one marijuana cigarette in front passenger compartment, five assorted knives, a machete on the back sat on top of the package of marijuana, a lock pic set and $150 cash.
Corriveau was arrested on charges of possession of burglary tools, weapons in a motor vehicle, speeding, marker light violation, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana.

He was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on March 9.
