Missing Boaters Found Safe in Clinton, One Taken Into Police Custody on Arrest Warrant: Report
Emergency crews located the boaters after a nearly two-hour search-and-rescue operation on Long Island Sound.

CLINTON, CT — Two missing boaters were found safe after a nearly two-hour search-and-rescue operation early Tuesday morning and one was taken into police custody on an active arrest warrant, according to WTNH News 8.
The search began when two men reported that there was a problem with their boat while they were out on the water in Long Island Sound at about 5 a.m., according to WTNH.
NBC Connecticut reports emergency crews from Clinton, along with the Coast Guard and the Westbrook Fire Department, were involved in the search.

Authorities had lost contact with the boaters, who previously reported a cell phone was only about 15 percent charged, at one point but they were located around 6:30 a.m., according to WTNH News 8.
NBC Connecticut reports crews found the boat in Madison and the two boaters were brought to shore at the Clinton Town Dock. One of boaters was taken into police custody on the arrest warrant after they were evaluated.
