Motorcycles and Aliens

I love motorcycles. I love aliens too but this has nothing to do with aliens, just figured I'd throw that in there since today is the 66th anniversary of the famous crash out side the sleepy little desert town of Roswell New Mexico.

I didn't get the chance to ride out to Roswell this weekend and enjoy the heat of the desert, but I did go out for aloe on Saturday morning to treat a sunburn on my legs and feet and ended up in Newport, RI - where I bought aloe to treat the sunburn on my arms and face that I had not properly planned to prevent that morning.

Newport, RI is a beautiful place and the number one reason I wanted to ride out there was the Claiborne Pell Bridge. I have this love of riding my bike over bridges. For me its enhances the sense of freedom that comes with having no doors and no fenders.

Once inside the city, traffic was a pain and I was having some regrets about riding out there on the Fourth of July weekend. Then I saw something amazing. Motorcycle Parking. This is something not seen enough. It's a great start to easing the stress in parking lots that are filled to capacity and giving the riders a bit of a break after the added stress and risks that come from riding a motorcycle. Not having to worry as much about where to park or if someone is going to back over your ride is a huge relief.

I had a great ride, I went wandering in a beautiful Seaside City, picked up some aloe and a lemonade, then headed back home to the shoreline of Connecticut. It was a great adventure despite the added layer to my sunburn. I hope everyone had as amazing of a holiday as I did and to keep the good times gong by paying attention - there are riders everywhere.
