Needle Found in Halloween Candy by Clinton Resident

Clinton Police are investigating a report of a small needle found inside a Snickers bar received from the listed neighborhoods.

A 13-year-old Clinton resident went trick-or-treating around town on Halloween this year and when they opened a fun-size Snickers bar on Monday, Nov. 2, they reportedly found a small needle inside the candy bar.

Police opened a criminal investigation into the candy tampering.

“The caller stated the child “trick-or-treated” in two specific neighborhoods in Clinton,” Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn said in a press release. ‘The neighborhoods included the Willow Lane area and the Nod Lane/Nod Hill Road-area of town.”

The child was not injured as a result of the incident. Where the child received the candy is not known at this time, police said. This is the sole report of candy tampering Clinton police received this year, Dunn said.
