New Ice Skating Rink Coming To Westbrook Outlets

WESTBROOK, CT — A new ice skating rink will be opening at the Westbrook Outlets next month, officials announced this week. The new rink, which will be located in Suite A150 across from H&M, will make its debut sometime in December. A specific grand-opening date wasn’t announced. The shopping center is located at 314 Flat Rock Place in Westbrook.

The new venue “promises a season full of family fun offering open skate hours, learn to skate lessons and other special events,” according a post on the Westbrook Outlets’ website. Visitors will be able to rent or bring their own skates to enjoy the new rink.

Luther Turmelle of the New Haven Register reports the 1,600-square-foot skating rink will begin as a seasonal operation but officials are considering keeping it open year-round if it is successful.

Officials say they are filling a void in the area by adding the skating rink and are also trying to differentiate the outlet center from its rivals along the Shoreline, according to the Register.

Westbrook Outlets features a “collection of more than 35 leading brand names including H&M, Eddie Bauer Outlet, J.Crew Factory, Haggar Factory Store, Old Navy Outlet, LOFT Outlet, New Balance Factory Store and Williams-Sonoma Outlet, among many more, where shoppers save up to 65 percent off regular retail prices every day,” according to its website.
