Is one of your New Year's resolutions to be more creative, take a new class or learn something new? Here's the schedule for upcoming classes for kids and adults.

Just in time for those New Year's resolutions to learn a new skill, Clinton Park & Recreation is offering Painting and Drawing Classes with instructor Joan Levy Hepburn.
All classes take place at the Park & Recreation building in the Indian River Recreational Complex, 201 Killingworth Turnpike.

MORNING PAINTING CLASS for ADULTS
Held on Six Thursdays: Jan. 17 - Feb. 28 (no class held on Feb. 21)
Time: 10am - 12pm
Fee: $185 (materials not included)
You may use any painting medium of your choice. You will learn the basics of painting, including: How to start the composition; how to work with tonal values; how to set a palette to create a sense of light; and how edges and textures affect the illusion of space and movement. By employing the basic rules of painting as you see and understand them, you will voice your own expression and create your own unique style.

AFTER SCHOOL DRAWING CLASSES for Kids
Older group: Grades 7 & 8
Held on Five Thursdays: Jan. 24 - Feb. 28 (no class Feb. 21)
Time: 4pm - 5pm
