Struggling with poor sleep, chronic fatigue, insomnia, or sleep apnea? Waterstone is expanding care in Madison with a new specialized Sleep Disorders Treatment Program designed to help patients finally get the restorative sleep they need for better overall health. Led by Thomas Abbenante, MD, a board-certified sleep physician, and Amanda Ciampini, APRN, the program provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of sleep conditions. Patients can receive care for sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, and other sleep disturbances that affect daily life, mood, and long-term health. The sleep program is available at Waterstone’s Madison and Hamden locations, making specialized sleep care more accessible to individuals throughout shoreline Connecticut and the greater New Haven region. Waterstone has been part of the Madison community since 2015, originally founded to provide compassionate outpatient care for individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. Over the past decade, our practice has grown into a trusted local resource offering mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and psychiatric medication management. The addition of sleep medicine reflects Waterstone’s commitment to whole-person care—recognizing that sleep, mental health, and recovery are deeply connected. Any adult who has helped a learner—formally or informally—has access to two useful voices: a “Teacher Voice” that provides instruction, information, and sometimes step-by-step directions, and an “Executive Function Coach Voice” that invites thinking, problem-solving, and ownership.
Both are important. The key is knowing which voice the learner needs in the moment — when to step in with direction and when to step back and make room for thinking.
Join Forman School's Cognition and Learning Teacher and Executive Function Coach Robyn Greenspan, Cognition and Learning Head of Department Brittany Bloom-Price, and Director of Cognition and Learning Dr. Kristin Simmers as they share research-informed strategies that work for learners of all ages, with a focus on:

A clear, plain-language understanding of executive function coaching

How to recognize when to use Teacher Voice and EF Coach Voice

Specific language shifts that encourage thinking, problem-solving, and ownership

Practical strategies that can be used at home and at school

What does UNITY mean to you?
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, Angelface Records — founded by Clinton residents Joe and Angelica McCarthy — invites the Connecticut community to gather for the first live experience of ONE: For Harmony, For Humanity — a multidisciplinary contemporary jazz album, live performance, and community project by the Latin Grammy®-winning, Grammy®-nominated New York Afro Bop Alliance Big Band. This is an invitation to belong to something — not just to witness it.
The evening begins at 5:00 PM with The ONE Gathering — a community commons featuring UNITY stations, Arts for All Ages, and a shared Community Mural, where families create together and answer the question "What does UNITY mean to you?" Every person who walks in is invited to contribute their voice, their creativity, and their art to the project itself.
At 7:00 PM, The ONE Concert opens with community performances by The Morgan School Jazz Band, the Shoreline Theater Academy Kidz Konnection, Poet Laureate of Clinton Bethany Howard, and Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Michael J. Fox, among other special guests. The New York Afro Bop Alliance Big Band closes the evening with a live preview of ONE: For Harmony, For Humanity — a musical journey toward unity through five original compositions woven together with spoken word and community voices. What is experienced in the room does not end there. The questions, practices, and relationships travel home with you, extending the purpose of ONE beyond the stage. The album records in November 2026 and releases in early 2027.
The Concert is Free and Open to All - General seating. Reserved and accessible seating available. RSVP at handstamp.com/e/one-community-concert
