Obituary: Joan (Robinson) Johnston, 92, Formerly of Clinton

In her day Joan loved singing and acting in school theater productions, playing the piano, and lifeguarding.

Joan (Robinson) Johnston, formerly of Clinton and most recently of Madison passed away on Sunday, December 10. She was born on September 30, 1925 in New York, New York. She leaves behind five children: Robert J. Johnston, IV of Salem, CT, Robin A. Johnston and William Vitous of Laurens, NY, William L. Johnston of Willetts, CA, Mary J. Annino and Louis C. Annino, Jr. of Killingworth and Ellen J. Blaschinski and Dennis Blaschinski of West Hartford, CT, and six grandchildren: Edward, Charles and Theodore Blaschinski of West Hartford, and Louis, Marina and Robert Annino of Killingworth. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Ann (Robinson) Cooney of Tarrytown, New York, and Charles H. Robinson, MD of Old Lyme, CT.

Mrs. Johnston was a graduate of Marymount College, and she dedicated her life to raising five children and volunteering in her church.

In her day Joan loved singing and acting in school theater productions, playing the piano, and lifeguarding. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation, 54 Grove St, Clinton on Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 am followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach Park Road, Clinton.
