Obituary: Ray Talamelli, 80, of Clinton
Ray, a West Haven native, was inducted into the ASA Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame in 2010.

Ray Talamelli, 80, of Clinton, died unexpectedly on January 6, 2018 at home. Ray was born on December 23, 1937 in New Haven CT. His parents were Harry Talamelli and Frances DeStefano Lytwinick. He grew up in the Allingtown section of West Haven, and attended Notre Dame High School, West Haven.
He married Paulette Sands on October 3, 1959 and they had been married for 58 years; living in Clinton for the last 50 years. Ray worked as an HVAC technician, retiring from Petro Oil Company in 2007. After Paulette - his first love, he loved nature, the New York Yankees and UConn Women's basketball and especially his own softball career. He also enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia hunting, landscaping and gardening, and his dogs! In 2010, he was inducted into the ASA Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame.

In addition to his wife Paulette, he leaves his two treasured sons, Raymond Talamelli of Haddam and David Talamelli of Clinton, and his very special grandson, Zachary. He also leaves his sisters Francine Lytwinick of West Haven, and Sharon Sabia of Stamford, and his brothers Duane McKay of Westbrook and Richard Talamelli of Trumbull.
A memorial service will be held at St Mary's Church, 54 Grove Street, Clinton on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:30. Family and friends are encouraged to arrive at 11:00am to be personally greeted by the family prior to the service. After the service, a reception will be held for everyone in the Visitation hall of the church.
