Obituary: Shane Schmidt, 39, of Clinton

With deep sadness, the family of Shane Schmidt shares that he passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2019. Shane was born March 13, 1979 in Middletown, CT, son of Robert Schmidt and Donna Mittica. He graduated from The Morgan School in Clinton in 1997, and then studied Information Technology, a field in which he led a successful career.

Shane will be lovingly remembered as a man with a huge heart who would do anything he could to help the people he loved. He was full of humor, wit, and personality, constantly making those around him laugh. He was a lover of the outdoors who was passionate about hunting and fishing, riding dirt bikes, and staying young at heart.

The biggest love of Shane’s life and his proudest accomplishment were his three daughters. Those who knew Shane knew how much he loved his girls, and how proud of them he was. Shane is survived by daughters Alexa (19), Carley (15), Ava (12), and their mother, Paula Lester; siblings Brian Clark, Katie Clark, Abby Stone, Corey Brushett, and Cassie Bancroft; grandmother Theresa Mittica; stepmother Karen Schmidt; stepfather Brian Clark; Nana Rochelle; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, grandfather James Mittica, and grandmother Carol Ann Schmidt.
