Obituary: ​Teresa Marie Dolan, 94

She served as the Director of Financial Services for the Clinton Board of Education until her retirement.

Teresa Marie Dolan, 94, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at the CT Hospice, in Branford CT. Teresa lived a wonderful and full life. She was born in Guilford CT on June 23, 1923 to the late Edward B and Mary Agnes Sullivan.

She is survived by her son Raymond and his wife Dawn Dolan of Peoria, AZ, son Daniel and his wife Diane Dolan of Madison CT, daughter Doreen and her husband Tony Nassimos of Madison CT and sister Catherine Ulles of Noank CT. Blessed by eight grandchildren; Ryan Dolan and his wife Ann of Alamo, CA, Brett Dolan and his wife Kathy of Madison,CT, Macken Dolan of Riverside, RI, Connor Dolan and his wife Deidre of Guilford,CT, Patrick Dolan of Brussels, Belgium, Colin Dolan and his wife Estela of Peoria, AZ, Ali Nassimos of Madison, CT and Molly Nassimos of Stamford, CT. She had eleven loving great grandchildren; Reilly, Aidan, Layne, Peyton, Miles, Blake, Brendan, Alistair, Seamus, Declan and Annie. Teresa is predeceased by her brother Edward B. Sullivan.Teresa was the daughter of Edward B Sullivan, one of the first Irish families to settle in Guilford. She was a lifelong resident, graduating from Guilford high School in 1941.

As a devout member of St George Parish she dedicated her entire life to providing multiple volunteer services to the church. She served as the Director of Financial Services for the Clinton Board of Education until her retirement.

Teresa enjoyed working in her garden, walking to the Guilford Dock and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proud of her Irish heritage and an avid Notre Dame football fan.She was a kind, loving person who was loved by everyone for her beautiful smile, sense of humor, compassion, dedication to her faith and love of her family. She will be truly missed but her legacy of memorable Mom, “T”, and Nan stories will be a source of smiles forever.

Friends are invited to calling hours Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 5 – 7 pm at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford on Wednesday, December 20 at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Grace Monastery, 11 Race Hill Rd, Guilford, CT 06437.
