Person Injured In Clinton Fire

A fire broke out Sunday morning in Clinton.

CLINTON, CT — A person was injured in a fire in Clinton early Sunday morning, according to the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched at 5:22 a.m. to the area of Nod Road and East Shore Drive on a report of a structure fire.

The fire department wrote on Facebook: "Firefighters not only had to contend with the structure (fire), but also a propane supply that had ignited, live wires down on the fire ground and a nearby garage exposure."

One person was transported to a nearby clinic for evaluation. The person was reported as having suffered "major burns," WTNH News-8 reported.

No other injuries were reported.

Several other area fire departments provided mutual aid in extinguishing the blaze.
