Pilot From Clinton Makes Emergency Landing In New York

The Clinton resident was flying a bi-plane from Connecticut to Warwick, New York on Friday afternoon: BREAKING

CLINTON, CT — A Clinton resident made an emergency landing in New York while flying his bi-plane on Friday afternoon, according to New York State Police. At about 1:20 p.m., Dana M. Hague, 57, of Clinton, was flying his bi-plane from Connecticut to Warwick, New York, when he observed smoke coming from the nose of the place, according to police.

“Hague attempted to make an emergency landing in a field located off of St-17 in the area of Arden Rd in the Town of Tuxedo,” police said in a press release. “The landing resulted in damage to the bi-plane but Hague was uninjured.”

A witness in the area observed the event and believed the plane suffered some form of mechanical failure, according to police.

Uniform Troopers and Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) are on the scene and the FAA will be notified, police said.
