Sister Funk helping family in need in Clinton, Ct

Longtime members of Black Bear Karate Dojo/ Westerly Residents the Paterno family have fallen on desperate times and need our help as a community. The father has been out of work for several months due to health issues and has been hospitalized for a short time. There is not enough income for food, and as a result they may lose their house. They are in the middle of bankruptcy as well. Sister Funk is a New Haven based band and has been around for 20 years and is the longest reigning all female band in New England. Sister Funk shared the stage with Grammy Nominated Foreigner, B52’s, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Melissa Etheridge and more. Known for their tight musicianship, dynamic stage presence, and crowd-engaging shows, Sister Funk brings every venue to life with their signature blend of pop, rock, funk, and dance favorites.

In 2023 Sister Funk were inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame by former American Gladiator Storm, they won the 2025 Mohegan Sun Casino Locals Live Competition and in 2026 Won the Last Resort RI Battle of the Bands, solidifying their reputation as one of New England’s most exciting live acts. The band has released five independent CDs, with music featured on television, in films, and across hundreds of radio stations worldwide.
