Stepped-up Night Patrols to Start in Clinton

The additional police presence is being funded by a community organization.

Night patrols by Clinton police will be a priority during the month of September.

According to an article in the New Haven Register, a grant from Clinton Partners in the Community will help fund the stepped-up presence at night.

Sobriety checks will take place between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m., the article said, and officers will also be looking out for people using cell phones while driving and not wearing seat belts.
