1. Shoreline Summer Festival
When: Saturday, July 11; starts at 11 a.m.

Down the road in New Haven, the Shoreline Summer Festival offers a full day of live music and arts for all ages. Ticket price includes all-day admission and re-entry, with 30 bands across two stages as well as a food and vendor fair; craft beer is available for guests aged 21+.

2. OVFD Carnival
When: Thursday, July 30–Sunday, August 2; see website for daily operating hours
Where: Orange Fairgrounds | 525 Orange Center Rd, Orange
The Orange Volunteer Fire Department (OVFD) Carnival returns this summer, bringing a full weekend of family-friendly fun to Orange and the surrounding communities. Attendees of all ages can enjoy carnival rides, food, games and the world-famous raffle, with all proceeds benefiting OVFD and its volunteers. If you’re coming by on Saturday night, stick around for the fireworks show!

3. Town of Clinton Summer Concert Series
When: Thursdays, July 9–August 6; 6:30 p.m.–8 p.m.
Where: Pierson Gazebo | 75 E Main St, Clinton
Grab your lawn chairs and your loved ones for free live music at the Pierson Gazebo on Thursday nights! This year’s performers include Spellbound, Engine Room, Rock Bottom, Furious George and The Mediums.

4. Clinton’s Celebration of America
When: Saturday, August 8; starts at 9 a.m.

Clinton’s Celebration of America, hosted by the Clinton Arts Council, will take over the town for a full day (and night) of patriotic festivities. From handcrafts and historical activities to picnic lunch to live musical performances, there’s something for everyone to celebrate our country’s 250th.

5. North Branford Poco Festival
When: Friday, August 7–Sunday, August 9; see schedule of events for operating hours
Where: Auger Field | 290 Forest Rd, Northford, CT
The North Branford Poco (Potato and Corn) Festival returns to the area for another year of fun, including tractor pullers, a circus and motocross show, beer and wine, and plenty of rides and games. For even more summer magic, there’s a fireworks show on Saturday night (rain date Sunday).

6. Madison Farmers’ Market
When: Fridays through Thanksgiving; 3 p.m.–6 p.m.
