Teen Charged In Purse-Snatching At Clinton Crossing Outlets: PD

The 17-year-old was arrested in connection with a purse-snatching incident at the Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets, according to police.

CLINTON, CT — A 17-year-old New Haven resident has been arrested in connection with a purse-snatching incident at the Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets in June, according to police.

The juvenile was arrested Sept. 16 by the Clinton Police Department’s Investigative Section, according to Corporal Spencer Mangs. The incident happened June 29.

The teen was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. The accused is currently incarcerated at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center on previous charges unrelated to this incident, according to Mangs.

“While there continues to be an increase in serious crimes committed by juveniles in Connecticut, this was an isolated incident for the Town of Clinton,” Mangs wrote in a news release. “The Clinton Police Department continues to proactively work towards keeping the community safe from all types of criminal behavior.”
