As you read in my very first blog post, I am a writer. I love stories - telling them, hearing them, making them. Growing up here ins Clinton I was surrounded by great stories of all kinds but for me the ghost stories were some of my favorites.
I moved back here after living on the West Coast to be closer to my family because we were going through a difficult life changing even - the loss of our mother. With all the feelings this brought, one of the strongest was my curiosity for the place I was raised. Why did my parents choose Clinton to raise their family? Why do I feel such a draw back here? What kind of impact has my little home town had on the world? Why are there so many stories about odd and mysterious happenings permeating this town? And when I started digging I found some amazing answers. That lead me to the idea that I should put some of my other skills to use. While living in Los Angeles, I worked on movies and wanted to write and direct. I still do and with that in mind I have been working on such a project.
I am looking to get as many of the great ghost stories and odd happenings of Clinton and its older homes and properties documented on film. I have talked to quite a few people and have gotten a few great ones down, but there is a bit of a road block. Many of the people I come across on this project are willing to talk to me, but getting them on camera has been much more difficult. I am in contact with the Clinton Historical Society and they have been wonderful with their help and support, sadly my day job gets in the way of me dedicating more time to them and this project. And we have gotten some amazing footage and some great stories on the books. But I need more stories on camera, from the source. And I especially need people that are willing to show us the houses and the properties that they have had interesting and unique experiences at. Or if you know of the amazing stories and histories about these properties, we would appreciate your help.
