The Morgan School's Top 10 Students Of 2012
Meet your Valedictorian, Salutatorian and the other top students of the class.

The Clinton Patch sends their congratulations to the top 10 students of Class of 2012! These students have worked hard at their studies for 12 long years and deserve our best wishes for their future.
Here's a glimpse of the accomplishments, activities and future plans of the top 10 graduates written by each student.

#1-Kaitlyn Elliot is the daughter of Melanie and Douglas Elliot:
Kaitlyn is the Parliamentarian of National Honor Society and a member of the French Honor Society. She has been Service Coordinator of the Interact Club for the past two years and is currently the secretary of the senior class. She is also a member of Peer Advocates and REACT. Kaitlyn was co-captain of the soccer team, indoor track and tennis team. She was named First Team All Shoreline and All State Soccer Team in 2010 and 2011 and plays on a premiere soccer team, Southeast Soccer Club.
Outside of school Kaitlyn has volunteered at St. Raphael’s Hospital, High Hopes Center for Therapeutic Riding, Summer Partners, and Habitat for Humanity. Due to all her volunteer experience, she was inspired to create Roller Buddies, her own program for youth to encourage positive behavior. Additionally, she is an RPI Medalist and received the Dartmouth Book Award.
Kaitlyn will be attending Northeastern University, where she plans to pursue a major in Human Services.
Salutatorian:
#2-Tsering Lhamo is the daughter of Tashi Kyi.
Tsering is a member of Amnesty International, High School Bowl, National Honor Society and French Honor Society. She was also named a Morgan Scholar and CAPT Scholar.
Tsering played volleyball her freshman and sophomore year and has participated in tennis since freshman year. Over the summer, Tsering participated in a 120 mile walk-a-thon from Cape Cod to Boston to raise awareness for the Tibetan Cause.
Tsering hopes to major in International Services at American University this fall.
#3-Emily Perzanoski is the daughter of Brian and Tammy Perzanoski.
Emily is the president of Morgan’s Interact Club, vice president of National Honor Society and a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Mock Trial Team and Prom Committee.
She has participated in soccer, indoor track, and outdoor track for each of her four years at Morgan. Emily is also a captain of the outdoor track team this spring.
Emily will attend American University in the fall, studying International Politics in AU’s School of International Service.
#4-Kelly Roche is the daughter of Kevin and Nancy Roche.
Kelly is the president of National Honor Society and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. She is captain of the Morgan High School Bowl team and has been captain of the Morgan Cross Country team for two years. She has also played basketball and lacrosse at Morgan. Kelly has been a member of Interact, Morgan SADD, Math Team, is a lead attorney on the Mock Trial team and was a Laurel Girls State participant. She was also named both a Morgan and CAPT Scholar, and she was awarded the Fairfield Book Award and the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.
Kelly has attended three Group Workcamps Foundation mission trips, taught church school for two years and was a member of the Christian Education Committee, all with the First Church of Christ.
Kelly will attend Boston University where she will pursue a major in Biomedical Engineering.
#5-Elena Schroeder is the daughter of E.C. and Larissa Schroeder.
Elena is a member of the Math Team, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. She has been a top runner in cross country, indoor and outdoor track for all four years at Morgan. Elena has also competed in triathlons and has tutored an elementary student in English.
She was named a Morgan Scholar and CAPT Scholar. Elena was awarded the Yale Book Award.
Elena will attend Bates College in the fall where she will be a member of the track and field team.
#6-Jason Zhang is the son of Bao Fang Zhang and Yu Qin Zhang.
Jason has been an active member of the Interact Club for three years. He was a member of the Math Team as a freshman and for three years a member of High School Bowl. Jason was a part of Amnesty International for his senior year at Morgan. He is a co-captain of the tennis team and has played all four years. He participated in cross country and indoor track his sophomore and junior year.
Jason has spent a large portion of his time volunteering both through Interact Club and on his own time.
Jason is attending Northeastern University in Boston and is enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
#7-Adam Lewis is the son of Mark and Julia Lewis.
Adam played hockey from freshman to junior year and baseball from freshman to sophomore year. He played tennis his senior year. Adam was a member of High School Bowl his freshman and senior year, Amnesty International his senior year, and Mock Trial his sophomore year.
Adam is attending Union College next year and is undecided on a major.
#8-Julie Nguyen is the daughter of Ky Van Nguyen and Thoa Kim Ha.
Julie is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and the National Honor Society. She is co-president of the Amnesty International and has been a member since sophomore year. Since the start of the Forensics Club, she has been president both her junior and senior year.
Other activities she has participated in include the Math Team, Uganda Club, Knitting Club and volunteer work at the Shoreline Pantry in Clinton.
Julie will attend the University of Connecticut this fall to major in Pharmacy.
#9-Lauren Gervais is the daughter of Christian and Sandra Gervais.
Lauren is the co-president of Amnesty International. She is a member of Interact, High School Bowl, Knitting Club and French Club. Lauren has also participated in the Morgan girl’s tennis team for four years.
She has been recognized as a member of the National Honor Society along with the French Honor Society. Furthermore, Lauren has also been an active member of the community by volunteering at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding and the Shoreline Food Pantry.
Lauren will be attending Ithaca College in the fall to pursue studies in Biology.
#10- Ryan Corcoran is the son of Matthew and Robin Corcoran.
Ryan has been a member of the Morgan Band for four years and has received Academic Distinction in Music-Band for two years. In his senior year, he was named band captain and received The Connecticut Association of School Outstanding Performing Arts Award.
Ryan has been a member of the soccer, indoor track and lacrosse teams for all four years. He has also been a member of Boy Scouts, Political Club, and National Honor Society. Ryan received the Boys State American Legion Award. He works at Lenny and Joe’s Fish Tale and will participate in his second mission trip this summer with The First Church of Christ, Congregational.
Ryan will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall to pursue a degree in Education.
