Thefts Reported at High School, Shoplifting Incidents Investigated: Clinton Police
Clinton Police detail recent calls the department has responded to, including identity theft, a truck driving onto the town beach and more.

CLINTON, CT — Clinton Police are investigating two reported thefts at Morgan High School and other recent shoplifting incidents in town.
Police also recently responded to a complaint of a truck driving onto the town beach, a deer rack stolen from a truck, a suspicious person, and a reported identity theft case.

Call # 16-21045, Theft, from school report, summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. Joseph Popovich
On 12/09/16 at approximately 1027 hours, a complainant from Morgan High School reported a stolen backpack incident. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-21230, Criminal Mischief report, and summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. Joseph Obrien
On 12/13/16 at approximately 1156 hours, a complainant reported that a truck drove onto the town beach. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-21345, Suspicious Person report summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. Lorenzo Lombardo
On 12/14/16 at approximately 2229, a complainant from Vienna lane reported that someone was walking across yards with a flashlight. Reported was a white male, older, wearing all dark clothes and he walked toward Olde Orchard Rd. The area was checked, however, the person had left prior to officers’ arrival.

On 12/16/16 at approximately 1359 hours, a complainant from Morgan High School reported their I-phone was stolen. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-21572, Suspicious person door to door solicitor report Summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. David Cairns
On 12/18/16 at approximately 1440 hours, a complainant from Liberty Street reported a suspicious person was soliciting door to door. The person was stopped by police and told to obtain a permit for this activity.

On 12/19/16 at approximately 1434 hours, a complainant from the Zumies store at 20 Killingworth Turnpike reported items were stolen. The suspects who left prior to police arrival were described as three heavy set black females wearing sweat pants and sweatshirts The suspects left the area in a green Jeep Cherokee type vehicle first 3 letters in the plate were 344. The matter is under investigation.

On 12/20/16 at approximately 1018 hours, a complainant from Rocky Ledge Drive reported that someone stole a deer rack from his truck. The matter is under investigation.

On 12/21/16 at approximately 0736 hours, a complainant from Glenwood Road reported Identity Theft.

On 12/21/16 at approximately 0752 hours, a complainant from Meadow Road reported that someone stole his cell phone. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-21747, Theft, shoplifting report Summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. Joseph Obrien
On 12/21/16 at approximately 1137 hours, a complainant from Stop and Shop, 215 East Main Street reported that a young white male stole energy drinks. Images of this suspect have been obtained. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-21345, Suspicious Vehicle report summary: Investigating officer : Cpl. Kyle Strunjo
On 12/21/16 at approximately 1857 hours, a complainant from Elmwood Way reported that a black Suburban type vehicle was circling the area. The area was checked, however, the vehicle had left prior to officers’ arrival.
Call # 16-21931, Shoplifting, Robbery report summary: Investigating officer : Ofc. Spencer Mangs
On 12/23/16 at approximately 2020 hours, a complainant from the Polo store 20 Killingworth Turnpike reported that two black females had sprayed them with pepper spray while walking out of the store with merchandise. The females were reported as wearing black jackets; one had an orange hoody under her jacket. The area was searched, however, the suspects had left prior to officers’ arrival.

On 12/24/16 at approximately 1530 hours, a complainant who was inside the Abercrombie and Fitch store reported that someone stole her cell phone. The matter is under investigation.
