Toys Desperately Needed For Annual Collection: Clinton Police

Clinton Police are asking for help with the annual toy collection, which is down considerably from recent years and the delivery date looms.

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Police Department is asking for help with collecting toys for its annual holiday toy drive for Clinton Social Services. Police say they are considerably down on their collection and the delivery date to families is quickly approaching.

“For the past 15 plus years the trailer shown in these photos has been filled to capacity floor to ceiling (and even one year filled twice!!) with the toys on the day we deliver them,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “That delivery day which is very early this year due to scheduling constraints is soon approaching!!

“As you can see this year we are CONSIDERABLY DOWN on our collection!! The Social Services Department needs the toys dropped off by to them this coming Wednesday the 13th so they can distribute them to families on Thursday the 14th.

“We are desperately asking that great citizens of the town of Clinton to please find it in your hearts to make a generous donation and drop off a new unwrapped toy at the lobby of the Clinton PD by Wednesday morning in order to make this year’s toy drive as much of a success as it has been in the past!!

Donations can be made during by dropping off an unwrapped toy at the main lobby of Clinton Police Headquarters, located at 170 East Main St., Clinton.
