Traditions New & Old: Clinton Summerfest, Fireworks & Tag Sale

This year, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting what it hopes will become a new tradition, its annual community tag sale.

CLINTON, CT — The annual Clinton Summerfest and Fireworks show will be held this year on Saturday, August 26, with a rain date set for the following day.

Unlike most area town fireworks shows, Clinton holds its big blow-out the last weekend in August. The tradition evolved from an annual three-day Bluefish Festival, which ran from 1972 to 2015.

Summerfest festivities at Andrews Memorial Town Hall will begin at 4 p.m. The first skyrocket will be lit at the Clinton Town Beach fireworks show at 9 p.m.
