Travis Jenkins is Clinton Rotary Club's Morgan School Student of the Month, November 2016

Per Nominating Teacher, Donna Marie Buffington, Travis Jenkins, a Senior at The Morgan School, is focused on family, academics and community service. Although Travis loves to spend his free time building, racing and repairing Radio Controlled Cars, his main focus is being a part of the Junior Volunteer Fireman Department (JVFD). For the past few years he has volunteered at the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and the Westbrook Volunteer Fire Department. During the summer months, Travis completed different trainings such as Fireman Academy. He volunteers weekly: every Tuesday he has training in Clinton and every Wednesday he has training in Westbrook. Mrs. Buffington believes he has transitioned very well from rookie to leader. He now holds dual leadership roles with the two separate Departments. As a Junior Volunteer Fireman, Travis has rank of Lieutenant at Clinton and Captain at Westbrook. Travis plans to continue his desire to become a fireman with college studies in the Fall. Travis truly exemplifies Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self”.
