Trump Signs Stolen in Clinton: Police
Police detail recent response calls, including a trailer theft and a suspicious man blowing kisses at girls in the middle school area.

CLINTON, CT — Several Trump political signs were taken down and many were stolen along Route 1, while police also responded to a reported theft of a trailer and a residential burglary in recent calls to the Clinton Police Department.
Police also investigated suspicious vehicle and person reports, including one in which a man driving a pickup truck yelled and blew kisses at girls in the area of Eliot Middle School, along with recent shoplifting incidents.

Call # 16-18220, Theft of Political signs report- Investigator: Cpl. Craig Lee, Summary:
On 10/18/16 at approximately 1636 hours, a complainant reported her political, (Trump) signs were taken down and many were stolen along route 1 in Clinton. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-18279, Theft of Trailer report, Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Glenn Smith
On 10/19/16 at approximately 1343 hours, a complainant from Menunketesuck Drive reported a theft of a trailer. Stolen was a black utility trailer 6’ by 8’.
Call # 16-18370, Theft Shoplifting Report Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Lorenzo Lombardo
On 10/20/16 at approximately 2028 hours, a complainant from the Sunglasses Hut store at 20 Killingworth Turnpike reported a shoplifting. The caller reported that two Hispanic females stole $1,000 worth of sunglasses. One wore a white sweatshirt and a white bandana. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-18388, Suspicious Vehicle report Summary: Investigator: Sgt. Scott Jakober
On 10/21/16 at approximately 0712 hours, a complainant from James Vincent Drive reported a suspicious vehicle. The complainant reported that a silver Ford Explorer occupied by two Hispanic males was in the area. The vehicle left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.
Call # 16-18404, Suspicious Motor vehicle report Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Joseph Popovich
On 10/21/16 at approximately 1243 hours, a complainant from the Ellot School reported a suspicious vehicle. The caller reported a dark gray pickup truck, (possibly a Chevy Silverado ) occupied by a white male in his 30’s, with short black hair, yelled and blew kisses at the girls in the area. The vehicle had left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

On 10/21/16 at approximately 2302 hours, a complainant from Cow Hill Road reported a man was walking near her residence with a flashlight. The person left the area prior to officer’s arrival.
Call # 16-18549, Burglary to residence report, Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Chris Varone
On 10/24/16 at approximately 1030 hours, a complainant James Vincent Drive reported a burglary to residence. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-18599, Theft Shoplifting report, Summary: Investigator: Sgt. Scott Jakober
On 10/25/16 at approximately 1250 hours, a complainant the Aeropostale store at 20 Killingworth Turnpike reported a shoplifting. The caller reported two black females one wore a gray hoodie and one wore a green jacket, both had their hair in a bun. The two suspects stoles store items. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-18611, Theft Shoplifting report, Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Gregory Matakaetis
On 10/25/16 at approximately 1620 hours, a complainant the Calvin Klein store at 20 Killingworth Turnpike reported a shoplifting. The caller reported that a white female, wearing a gray sweater-dress, long black jacket carrying a tote bag and had a French accent, stole store items. The matter is under investigation.
Call # 16-19026, Suspicious Motor vehicle report Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Jason Frey
On 11/01/16 at approximately 2304 hours, a complainant from Whitewood Road reported a suspicious vehicle. The caller reported a SUV type vehicle was in the area three times. The vehicle had left the area prior to the officers arrival.
Call # 16-19026, Suspicious Person and Motor vehicle report Summary: Investigator: Cpl. Craig Lee.
On 11/02/16 at approximately 1106 hours, a complainant from High Street reported two suspicious people. The caller reported that a white male and black male subject came to her door and asked her if she spoke Turkish because they needed someone to interpret. The caller shut her door on them. They left in a black or gray car. The subjects were described as a white male, wearing a blue jacket; the black male wore a black jacket. Both subjects were about 40 years old. The vehicle had left the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

On 11/05/16 at approximately 0650 hours, a complainant from Thrush Cross Road reported her mail box was damaged as well as others in the area.
Call # 16-19313, Suspicious Person report Summary: Investigator: Ofc. Spencer Mangs
On 11/07/16 at approximately 1853 hours, a complainant from West Road reported a man was attempting to sell house cleaning services door to door. The police responded and the two subjects were advised to seek a permit in order to solicit door to door.
