Upcoming Clinton Traffic Alert: Expect Heavier than Usual Traffic this Weekend

Clinton Police are advising residents to use alternate routes with a heavy flow of traffic expected to be in town this weekend.

CLINTON, CT — The Clinton Police Department is reminding residents and visitors that there will be heavier than usual traffic in the area of the Clinton Crossing Premium Outlet Center, along Route 81 and surrounding intersecting streets.

The larger than normal shopping crowds are anticipated, due to the fact that this week is the last week of summer vacation for many of the area school districts, and back to school shopping is in full effect.

This week is also the State of Connecticut’s “tax free week,” which will also act as an added incentive for consumers to visit the outlet center.

The Clinton Police Department strongly suggests that motorists utilize Cow Hill Road as well as, Glenwood and Hurd Bridge Roads as alternate routes to bypass Route 81 and the potential congestion in the area of the outlet center.
