Today, the Danbury Education Foundation (DEF) announced that the organization has awarded thirteen classroom grants totaling $45,000 to Danbury Public School teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.

“As Mayor of the City of Danbury, education is my top priority. Whether it’s fully funding the Board of Education’s FY 23-24 budget request of $150 million, launching the wall-to-wall district-wide career pathways curriculum, or opening the new Middle School and High School at the Academies of Danbury, I am fully dedicated to making Danbury’s education system the best it can be for generations to come,” said Mayor Esposito.
“The grant recipients clearly demonstrated their commitment to providing unique, out-of-the-box curriculum to their students to enhance their academic experience. Danbury Public Schools is extremely lucky to have them,” he added.

The Danbury Education Foundation is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization chaired by Mayor Dean Esposito that was founded to complement and enhance the educational opportunities of all students within Danbury’s public-school system. DEF has school-year grant opportunities to help Danbury’s teachers and non-profit organizations go above and beyond their current financial capacity to implement creative and enriching experiences for their students.
