17-Year-Old Missing Teen Found Safe Thanks to Facebook

Missing teen found with the help of social media.

A 17-year-old New York teenager who was missing since Sunday, Sept. 7 was found safe on Friday, Sept. 12, according to the boy’s mother, Laurie Alber.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10 she posted a message on her Facebook page, asking for the public’s help to locate her son Nick Alber. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was assisting in the search, however, the boy was found by a tip Alber received through social media.

Mrs. Alber told Patch Friday, “I received a tip through Facebook this morning. It’s quite a story, I can’t get into now, but I will say it was a miracle.”

Nick was found sleeping on a beach in Brooklyn. His brother lives in Queens. Mrs. Albers said “he is fine,” however, they are bringing him to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

Mrs. Albers said she is glad her son is home safe.
