8 Danbury Retailers Cited For Selling Alcohol To Minors: Police

Police in Danbury made 47 unannounced compliance inspections last week, and 8 establishments were found to sell alcohol to minors under 21.

DANBURY, CT — Police conducted 47 unannounced compliance inspections in Danbury last week. Of these, eight establishments were found to sell alcohol to minors under 21.

The Aug. 25 compliance checks of retailers that sell off-premise alcohol were orchestrated by members of the Danbury Police Department Special Investigations Division and Special Victims Unit working with the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control.

The following retailers were found to be non-compliant:

  • Hilltop Wine & Liquor, 3.5 Clapboard Ridge Rd.
  • Danbury Wine & Liquor, 18 White St.
  • JB Wines and Spirits, 29 Newtown Rd.
  • Aldi #55, 63 Newtown Rd.
  • Pague Menos Supermarket, 107 Triangle St.
  • Torres Grocery, 28 Wildman St.
  • Danbury Food & Variety, 121 White St.
  • Jimmies Market, 38 Germantown Rd.

The Connecticut Department of Liquor Control submitted an investigation report and will be following up with possible enforcement action, according to Det. Lt. David Pardovich of the Danbury Police Department.
