8 Ridgefield K-8 Schools In CT Top 100: U.S. News & World Report
More than 80,000 elementary and middle schools in the U.S. were included in the report, including 848 in Connecticut.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — Eight K-8 schools in Danbury have been named among the top 100 in Connecticut in a new U.S. News & World Report.
Six Ridgefield elementary schools, and two middle schools made the cut for the publication's inaugural list.
Ridgebury Elementary School came in at #7, while Scotland Elementary was ranked #17 in the state. Farmingville was #38, and Barlow Mountain was #44. Branchville Elementary School was ranked #76, while the 82nd on the list for Connecticut was Veterans Park Elementary School.
Among the top middle schools in the state were East Ridge and Scotts Ridge, at #20 and #28, respectively.
U.S. News published rankings and data on more than 80,000 public elementary and middle schools across the United States.
In Connecticut, a total of 848 schools were ranked, 560 elementary and 288 middle schools.
Schools are ranked at the state and district levels. The best charter schools and best magnet schools ranked as stand-alone categories.
U.S. News ranked Booth Free School in Roxbury as the top in Connecticut among K-8 schools, according to the new list.
