Danbury Immigrant Rights Group Reschedules Canvassing Campaign Kickoff

The campaign will include door-to-door outreach, immigrant rights resources and a helpline for reporting ICE activity.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury Unites for Immigrants has rescheduled the kickoff of its “Families Belong Together” canvassing campaign after last weekend’s launch was postponed due to weather.

The event is now scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Kennedy Park in downtown Danbury, according to organizers.

The campaign will include canvassing events every other Saturday through mid-September focused on distributing immigrant rights resources, promoting the group’s helpline and connecting with residents across the city.

Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves and state Sen. Julie Kushner are expected to speak during the kickoff event alongside community organizers and advocates.

Organizers said the campaign follows a similar outreach effort held in Danbury last fall.
