Driver Arrested After Danbury Crash That Toppled Utility Poles: Police (patch.com) — Danbury residents are learning more about a serious crash near Triangle Street and Starr Road that knocked down four utility poles, closed roads for hours, and left live wires creating a major hazard. Police say the Danbury driver and three passengers initially fled but were later located, with the driver facing multiple charges and one passenger held on outstanding warrants at Danbury Police Department.
2. New Danbury Car Wash Offering 10 Days Of Free Washes (patch.com) — Drivers in Danbury will soon have a new option for keeping their cars clean as Speeders Car Wash opens an express location on Newton Road. The company is marking its local debut with ten days of free washes from May 29 through June 7, highlighting its environmentally safe products and automated wash technology for area customers.
3. Six Connecticut schools earn state's Blue Ribbon distinction: 'Support student success' (ctpost.com) — Danbury’s Western CT Academy of International Studies Elementary Magnet School has been named a 2026 Connecticut Blue Ribbon School for both high performance and closing achievement gaps. Serving many Danbury students and other nearby towns, the school is credited with strong educators, robust student support, and a culture of high expectations, and will be honored at a state ceremony in June.
4. We tested silver coins bought on eBay, and they were all fake (nbcconnecticut.com) — Danbury Coin Club’s president is warning local collectors after NBC Connecticut bought four supposedly silver coins on eBay that testing showed were mostly copper. With silver prices soaring, experts say fake listings are multiplying and urge buyers to stick with reputable dealers and be wary of any deal that seems too good to be true.
5. NY man accused of exposing himself to minors in Ridgefield gets probation (newstimes.com) — A criminal case handled in Danbury Superior Court ended with a New York man receiving a suspended prison term and five years of probation after pleading guilty to reduced charges involving minors. The incidents occurred in Ridgefield and Wilton in 2025, and the defendant still faces related charges with a pending pretrial hearing in Stamford.
