The Environmental Committee of WCDNF raised money to support Open Road Rescue. It is a non-profit organization focused on cross-country animal rescue and transport. It pulls pets and stray animals from euthanasia lists, takes in strays, and supports other rescues by moving animals to safety and foster homes.

Three baskets containing grooming and pet care products were raffled at the WCDNF March General Meeting. The money that was raised, $595.00, will be used for gas cards and coffee/donut cards for volunteer drivers. The number of abandoned animals continues to grow and this program serves an important and humane effort.
