DANBURY, CT — Danbury residents will celebrate Independence Day early with the city's annual Fireworks Show on June 27 at Candlewood Lake Danbury Town Park.
Hosted by the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department and Danbury Recreation Department, the free event will feature live music, food concessions and a fireworks display at dusk.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and live music by the band Junk is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Organizers said the event is free to attend and alcohol will not be permitted inside the park.
City officials are also advising motorists to plan ahead and expect traffic delays in the area before and after the event.
A rain date is set for Sunday, June 28.
