DANBURY, CT — A driver was critically injured in a rollover crash in Danbury on the Fourth of July and police are seeking witnesses, according to the Danbury Police Department.
In a news release posted to Facebook, police said the crash was reported Saturday around 2 p.m. in the area of South King Street.
When officers arrived in the area, they discovered a blue Hyundai Santa Fe had left the roadway and struck multiple trees prior to rolling over on a South King Street property, police said.
The driver was taken to the emergency room at Danbury Hospital for treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries, according to police.
South King Street was closed for several hours while the Danbury Police Accident Investigation Team investigated, police said.
In an update Monday, police said they are seeking witnesses to the crash and asked anyone with information to call the department' Traffic Division at 203-797-2157 or utilize their anonymous Tip411 system.
