DANBURY, CT — Danbury officials are warning motorists to expect delays and avoid an area of the city as work continues on the Franklin Street Extension Bridge Project.

Milling and paving is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, Aug. 12, through Friday, Aug. 14, according to the city.

The work will include the intersection of Franklin Street Extension and Gregory Street.

City officials are strongly encouraging motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while construction is underway.

Drivers traveling through the area should follow posted signs, allow additional travel time and use caution around construction crews.

The work is part of the ongoing Franklin Street Extension Bridge Project.
