Weapon offender registry violation led to drug charges for Danbury man, police say (newstimes.com) — A 39-year-old Danbury resident faces narcotics and weapon offender registry charges after police say a tip about cocaine dealing led them to search homes on Padanaram Road and in New Milford. Officers seized drugs and paraphernalia, and the man is due in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 14, giving local residents a sense of ongoing enforcement activity in their neighborhoods.
3. Danbury wants faster ok for fast food, moves to drop 'unnecessary' steps facing chain restaurants (newstimes.com) — Danbury officials are weighing zoning changes that would make it easier for fast-food and fast-casual chains to open or expand along Mill Plain, Federal, and Newtown roads by streamlining approvals. The proposal would cut some public-hearing requirements while still reviewing high-traffic projects, potentially speeding new restaurant options and renovations for local diners and business owners.
4. Southbury man gets probation in Brookfield Happy Landings shooting case (ctpost.com) — A Southbury man has been sentenced in Danbury Superior Court to a suspended jail term and three years' probation for his role in a 2025 shooting at Brookfield's Happy Landings open space. The case involved a confrontation with a Danbury resident, a struggle over a pistol, and two people later treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at Danbury Hospital.
