DANBURY, CT — UFO sightings, government secrets and unexplained encounters will take center stage during a free conference hosted by the Danbury Library this month.
The 2026 Western Connecticut UFO Conference, titled "A Peek into the Future," will run Oct. 13-24, featuring a series of virtual presentations followed by in-person programs at the library.
The conference will explore unidentified flying objects, also known as unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAPs, through discussions of historical sightings, government records, witness accounts and research.
The virtual lineup begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m. with Theresa Waldron's presentation, "Inside the U.S. Government's UFO Files," examining historical government documents and investigations.
Other presentations include author Linda Zimmermann discussing reports of UFO sightings involving police officers on Oct. 14, attorney Daniel Sheehan discussing government transparency on Oct. 15, and researcher Preston Dennett examining reported UFO encounters near schools on Oct. 21.
The conference concludes Saturday, Oct. 24, with two in-person programs at Danbury Library, 170 Main St.
Michael Panicello will present "UFOs in Connecticut: Past and Present" at 10:30 a.m., followed by astronomer Marc D'Antonio's "The Time Machine Universe" at noon.
The programs are free, although registration is required for individual sessions. Virtual participants will receive access information after registering.
