The changes are expected to remain in effect through Monday, Nov. 2.

Local drivers who need access to Gregory Street should follow the posted detour using Fairmount Drive and Hilltop Manor, officials said.

Through traffic will also be directed along a signed detour route.

Danbury Emergency Management is urging motorists to follow posted traffic signs and allow additional travel time while the work is underway.

The closure is part of Eversource's Underground Cable Modernization Project, although officials did not provide additional details about the work planned for this section of Gregory Street.
