DANBURY, CT — A new veterinary clinic has opened in downtown Danbury, bringing another option for pet care to Main Street.

The clinic, led by Dr. Sherif Lawendy, is a full-service veterinary practice offering care for dogs and cats, including puppy and kitten care, wellness exams, vaccinations, senior pet care, dental services and diagnostic testing.

Additional services include affordable spay and neuter procedures, orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries, and pet travel certificates, according to the company's website.

ValuePetVet also publishes prices for several common services. An annual wellness exam costs $69, while a first-time client's annual wellness exam costs $79. One-year rabies vaccinations are listed at $31, and medical illness exams range from $109 to $143.75. Prices are subject to change.

State Rep. Farley Santos, who attended the opening, said he worked with Lawendy and his team as they prepared to establish the new location.

According to Santos, Lawendy said improvements taking place in downtown Danbury helped give him the confidence to invest in the area.

"That's progress! Businesses seeing our downtown's potential and investing in its future!" Santos wrote in a Facebook post welcoming the clinic.

The Danbury location joins three other Connecticut clinics in Monroe, Norwalk and Dayville.

More information about the clinic is available at Value Pet Vet's website.
