DANBURY, CT — A new Thanksgiving Eve football tradition is coming to Danbury, as two local teams prepare to face off in a historic matchup next month.
For the first time, Danbury High School and ATI United, a cooperative football team representing Abbott Technical High School and Immaculate High School, will meet in a regular-season football game, according to an announcement shared by the City of Danbury.
The game is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. at Danbury High School Stadium.
Danbury High's Hatters compete in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference, while ATI United competes in the Connecticut Technical Conference.
The city is encouraging residents, students, alumni and football fans to attend the game and help launch what officials hope will become a new local tradition.
"Three high schools. Two teams. One city!" the city wrote in its announcement.
